Menopause is a natural phase in a woman’s life. There are also natural remedies to help with the quality of life issues including hot flashes, lose of sex drive, insomnia and weight gain and others. But how can you accurately predict when it will occur?
Researchers have developed a way of accurately predicting when women will hit menopause using a simple blood test. The average difference between the predicted age and the actual age that women in the study reached menopause was only a third of a year. However the maximum margin of error was between three and four years.
Traditionally, doctors have always used blood test measuring estrogen and estrogen as well as testosterone to evaluate at what phase a woman was during menopause. The recent study demonstrated that researchers tested for a hormone called AMH, otherwise known as anti-Mullerian hormone. AMH controls the development of the follicles in the ovaries in which the egg develops. It has been suggested that AMH could be used for measuring ovarian function. This study went on to prove that by measuring AMH levels they could predict when menopause would start within four months.
It could be argued that testing AMH levels at this time is too preliminary as the testing results can vary up to four years.
The definition of menopause is ‘the end of the reproductive years signaled by 12 consecutive months without a menstrual cycle.’ Normally at this time, all three reproductive hormones: estrogen, progesterone and testosterone, have decreased. While these hormones are decreasing and become out of balance with one another, women often experience the traditional symptoms of menopause. These symptoms include hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, lack of sex drive, irritability, mood swings and weight gain. Also, women suffer from increased risk of heart disease and osteoporosis. Natural supplements have proved beneficial in correcting these issues.
Vita Logic Women’s Balance Pack addresses the issues a woman faces during and after her menopausal years. It contains Women’s Formula which has the four herbs: don quai, red clover, vitex and black cohosh. These help with the quality of life issues including hot flashes and mood swings.
