Pain Management…What’s the Answer?

Chronic pain…it’s one of those things we’ll most likely (but unfortunately) have to deal with, especially as we age.  Maybe we were a little too good of an athlete in our glory days!  Or maybe we just thought we were a little better than we actually were and took risks that have finally caught up with us!  Maybe that car accident we were lucky to live through has taken its toll over the years, affecting the broken bones and torn ligaments we thought would heal up perfectly. Or perhaps the back or neck surgery we endured left us without that permanent fix we assumed we’d receive.  Sound familiar?  Whatever the cause, chronic pain is aggravating for many of us and can be downright debilitating if left untreated.  Research shows that more than 50 million Americans suffer from chronic pain!  Those are epidemic numbers!  Modern medicine and research has marched toward a cure for chronic pain since anyone on the planet can remember.  Sure, there are new drugs out every year, both over-the-counter and prescription versions, claiming to finally knock your chronic pain and inflammation out with one punch!  Then you hear that long list of possible side effects associated with this new magic pill, and maybe it doesn’t sound like such a miracle drug!

Then there is the natural or holistic approach to pain management.  Many natural remedies do exist. It just takes a little research and perhaps some trial and error to find the right combination of supplements and therapy to alleviate, or at least manage chronic pain, and get back to living a full and active life!

The following are some possible solutions to natural pain management.  Some sufferers may not find relief from any one approach.  The goal again though, is to try different methods of tackling chronic pain and make choices that work for your body!

Natural Pain Relievers-Curamin

Curamin is powerful formulation of natural ingredients, including Curcumin, curcuminoids, dl phenylanine, Boswellia and Nattokinase. This supplement enhances the body’s natural defense mechanisms for the relief of inflammation and pain, due to over use. Curamin can be taken daily, is non-habit forming and can be used long-term or as needed to eradicate short-term pain problems from injury or from doing just a little more than your body is accustomed to doing.

Acupuncture

Most agree that acupuncture has been practiced for at least 2,000 years and originated in China as a healing art. This procedure involves insertion of thin needles, applied to trigger points in the skin, in an attempt to regulate movement within the body’s meridian system.  Some swear by the practice but again, it’s not for everyone!

Chiropractic

Though now more mainstream than ever, chiropractic is still considered a complementary and alternative medicine (CAM).  Licensed chiropractors adjust the body to relieve pain, most commonly in the spine and neck.  The theory is that misalignment of the vertebrae contributes to back and neck pain, but cause other pain problems of the arms, legs and even play a role in chronic headaches.

Massage Therapy

Soft tissue massages make you feel relaxed and loose.  By improving circulation, stretching muscles and joints, massage therapy alleviates some types of chronic pain, especially in the lower back, neck and shoulder regions.  This method of stress and pain relief doesn’t have to cost a fortune either.  Though you probably don’t live with a professional massage therapist, your partner or loved one can try his or her hand at soothing those tight muscles and joints probably for little more than a heartfelt thank you, a hug and a kiss…pretty inexpensive relief!

Relaxation Techniques

Meditation and relaxation are strong antidotes to stress and chronic pain.  When we experience pain, our nerves instruct our muscles to contract, causing that intense cycle of tightness and more stress!  The recipe for relaxation may come in the form of meditation, tai chi or yoga.  These ancient arts and relaxation techniques coupled with stretching exercises and slow, methodical movements, work to relax the stressed muscles and joints in the body and provide lasting pain relief!

Dietary Supplements

Supplements, including vitamins and minerals, offer the body essential ingredients for healthy soft tissues, bones and muscle.  Antioxidants fight off the free radicals that attack our bodies at the cellular level and introduce disease and fatigue.  A balanced diet, moderate exercise and dietary supplements, like Vita Logic Daily Extra, provide those essential nutrients to keep our bodies functioning at peak levels and assist us in fighting off those variables that contribute to chronic pain.

Don’t let chronic pain knock you off your feet!  Take steps to defeat it now by using natural methods of healing!  There are certainly too many options and combinations of pain management remedies and methods to list here.  What we can do, as folks afflicted with chronic pain, is to keep trying different approaches until we find what works for us.  It may be an uphill climb until you find that panacea of relief, but it’s well worth the effort to reach the top of the mountain!
